Wild life Refuge Caño Negro is a place which is part of the Ramsar Treaty. The Ramsar Convention, is an intergovernmental treaty that provides the framework for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources.
For its conditions it is undisputedly one of the best places to observe migratory birds as well as a large quantity of reptiles. The tour will allow us to discover the refuge, enjoying all the majesty that flora and fauna has to offer us. Caño Negro is the best place to enjoy nature with a family or group to study the large amount of birds, reptiles and mammals that can be found in the refuge. Reptiles such as “guajipal lizard” are very common and can easily be seen.
One of the main attractions is the river “Rio Frio” where the “Gaspar” lives - a unique endemic fish.
On our way back to the village accompanied by a farmer family we can enjoy a delicious lunch prepared especially for us.
